The Redding Public Safety campaign delivered a $45,000 check to Redding Police Chief Roger Moore on Thursday, the result of continuing donations throughout September. Several individuals and businesses joined The 707 Alliance – the group of donors each giving $1,000 or more – and were featured in a full page spread in the Record Searchlight, Sunday, October 8th. Chief Moore was extremely thankful for the check and the overall support of the campaign. “[The NPU] meet the needs of the community,” he said. “They work together around the clock, train together, and they truly care.” While the majority of the RPD force is answering 911 calls and taking victim reports, the NPU is allotted dedicated time to examine problems from a 10,000 foot view, make game plans, leverage resources, and fix bigger picture problems. Chief Moore explained that the funding from this campaign helps provide them the flexibility to address critical public safety issues.
